BECAS PARA ALUMNOS DESTACADOS - EMBAJADA DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS

Ocho estudiantes ecuatorianos tendrán la oportunidad de viajar a Estados Unidos por cinco semanas para adquirir mayores conocimientos sobre el país y mejorar su capacidad de liderazgo. Esto, a través del concurso de becas para jóvenes líderes universitarios que realiza por segundo año consecutivo la Embajada de Estados Unidos.

El programa incluye seminarios, discusiones, conferencias, trabajo en grupos, y se complementa con viajes educativos a varios lugares de los Estados Unidos y con oportunidades de voluntariado.

Los estudiantes interesados deben tener un conocimiento intermedio del idioma inglés, leer la descripción del programa y solicitar el formato de aplicación a contactocultural@state.gov . Las solicitudes y documentación de respaldo se recibirán en sobre cerrado hasta el viernes 12 de febrero de 2010, a las 17:00, en la Embajada de los Estados Unidos (Guayacanes N52-205, Quito) a nombre de Elisabeth Serrano, Oficina de Asuntos Culturales

MIAMI DADE COLLEGE AND BLUE HILL COLLEGE TO SING ARTICULATION AGREEMENT

Miami, September 30, 2009 - Blue Hill College (BHC) in Guayaquil-Ecuadorwill, enter into an Articulation Agreement with Miami Dade College (MDC) i. The signing ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. The working media is welcome to attend.
BHC, established in 1997, is a component of the Colegio Americano of Guayaquil, Ecuador, with a focus on business administration education. BHC allows Ecuadorian students to complete part of their U.S. college education at home. The agreement will allow its students to transfer to MDC to continue their education.   
MDC President Eduardo J. Padrón and BHC President Johnny González will sign the agreement before special guests, including the Honorary Juan Carlos Toledo, Consul General of Ecuador in Miami, and Francisco Andrade, President of BHC’s Board of Trustees, among others. 
MDC provides its students and faculty with many opportunities for enrichment and continuing studies. The College has articulation agreements with all state universities and nearly 100 institutions across US and the globe, including Georgia Institute of Technology, Smith College, the University of Wisconsin, and Cibertec-Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in Peru, among many others.

JUST HAPPENED

Guillermo J Salas Vonbuchwald, a recent graduate of the Blue Hill / Excelsior College Program was admitted to a Master´s Program in Leadership and healt Management at Kingston University int London.

He will travel to the UK in the next few weeks to Seattle in an to get ready to start his two-year graduate program at the end of September.During the last two years he has worked in the administrative unit of a well known local hospital. We all wish Guillermo the best on his new educational endeavor

BHC OPEN
For the 5th consecutive year BHC gave away a scholarship that is promised every year in our sponsored tennis tournament: the BHC open. The tournament ran from July 30th to august 4th where 32 players competed for this valuable prize.
Players came from different countries to play this important tournament and ear one full scholarship in BHC. Players with a short though amazing career suit up to
play the BHC open.

The champion of the tournament and winner of the full scholarship for one year was
Patricio Alvarado, who was also given a wild card for the “iii futures chapter: Guayaquil.”
The finalist was Andres Arango and was given a half scholarship for one year in BHC.
The score was 6-2, 6-2.
