HISTORY

BHC | Blue Hill College started 10 years ago when a few businessmen and scholars realized how important was to have a local education with a global perspective.

They decided to create a college with the USA educational system, where they work under a general studies format where students are able to select their career after the second year of studies and not before. They also thought that it would be important that BHC students get that international education experience, so they sought for agreement with different institutions where BHC students are now able to take some classes here, even the first 2 years and then study abroad the rest of their career.

We have some special agreements with some universities where the students could even earn a scholarship based on their GPA. As years passed by BHC has managed to create some different programs to serve and offer every single person, regardless its age or limitation of time, a professional degree. That is why in BHC there are no barriers nor borders for the one who wants to study.

BHC | Blue Hill College took its name from its location, BHC is located in a beautiful site in Guayaquil, Ecuador surrounded by hills evethough Guayaquil is located on the coast of Ecuador.

WHO WE ARE

Blue Hill College is a private institution of Higher Learning. It is legally registered by the Conesup (official register 09-008). BHC offers Título Técnico (four semesters) and Título Tecnológico (six semesters).

We offer a strong General Education program plus upper level classes in Business Administration and Organizational Communication.

All our classes are in English by special permission.

Blue Hill has a Study Abroad Learning Center for Spanish Language, Ecuadorian and Latin American History and Politics, plus Professional development internships as well as Community Service Internships.

We open doors to excellence in international level higher education, and recognition, according to the specific needs of Ecuador, the region, and the ever changing global market. FAQ´S ABOUT BHC

Which are the benefits of studying at BHC?

• All our classes are in English by special permission.

• There are no hidden charges here at BHC, this means you will only have to pay for the classes you take.

• Our classes start at 6pm, which allows you to work if you want to and it doesn´t interfere with your schedule.

• Our classes are offered in an intensive two-month format, which means every 2 months you have to take new courses. This gives you the agility and up-to-date information, processes and material.

• There are no graduation seminars or thesis, so there will not be any surprise charges, and you can plan your career very accurately.

• A huge advantage of the educational system applied here at BHC, which is based on the American Educational System, is that you will not have to choose your career as you graduate from High School, you will have to do this once you have finished the second year of general studies. WHY? BHC having the years of experience that BHC has, has found that generally speaking the high school graduate does not really know what to study when he first graduates, or even worse he decides for a career that e is not sure of just because he HAS to choose one in order to start studying. Here at BHC things are different, we, based on the American System have developed a pensum where the first 2 years are of General Studies which means that every single student, regardless the major or even career we will choose in the future, will have to take this courses; whether it is because he wants to study astronomy, gymnastics, architecture, engineering o medicine you will have to take this first 2 years of general courses.

WHY DOES BHC DO THIS?

• As we said before, because sometimes the student does not know what to study, or even worse, he starts studying something and then after the first or second year he decides that is not what he really wanted. So what BHC does is: giving in the first 2 years general courses for everyone, the student will have courses on law, science, art, psychology, marketing, business etc; and then, after you have seen all these courses and you have finished the second college year you will choose your career and your major.

• BHC has different agreements with different universities in different countries where we can offer scholarships, if the student is entitled to them. We have FULL and PARTIAL scholarships, and ACADEMIC and SPORTS scholarships.

• BHC has an agreement with Excelsior College where the student that decides not to go abroad, meaning going to study to another country, the student will be able to get a degree from the United States. The student does not have to leave Ecuador to earn a degree from the United States, a Bachelor of Science, your diploma will come directly from Albany, New York located in the United States.
